Statement of the Chairman of the Board
Rolandas Valiūnas
Dear members of the association, colleagues,
The past year has been special for our association: in 2024, we celebrated the 25th anniversary of our organization’s activities. For a quarter of a century, we have been a rational voice and a think tank, assisting the Republic of Lithuania in improving the investment climate and business environment, strengthening its position in the world, and creating welfare for the country and its society. For a quarter of a century, we have been an initiative-driven, active, and responsible community, within which we can successfully create meaningful changes for all of us. I consider the opportunity to be part of this community not only a special pleasure but also an extraordinary honor.
The jubilee year has provided us with opportunities to celebrate achievements as well as face new challenges and work. We have been active participants in public discussions on key issues regarding the development of the state and business, providing opinions and proposals on the implementation of tax reform and other decisions affecting the country’s investment climate. We have been visible and heard not only in the meeting rooms of state institutions but also in the public sphere, actively commenting on significant events and processes.
We brought together an international community of experts, inviting distinguished representatives from business, politics, the public sector, and academia from around the world to participate in the international conference “Futurescape 2024”. We continued meaningful traditions, such as the association’s annual awards ceremony and the campaign “There is No Place for Shadows in This Country”. We created new traditions by beginning to invite association members to lunch every month with interesting people, experts from various fields.
As I write these words, I contemplate that the concepts of “community” and “gathering” perhaps best describe both the past year and the entire 25-year history of the “Investors’ Forum”. So, even though international political and economic tensions remain high this year, and although we are living in arguably one of the most unsettled times since the restoration of Lithuania’s independence, I view many of the emerging challenges calmly, knowing that almost everything is possible when surrounded by the most brilliant companions.
I sincerely thank you for your partnership and camaraderie. Let us move forward!
