The associations Unicorns Lithuania and Investors’ Forum, which unite startups as well as foreign and Lithuanian investors, together with the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists, have addressed the President, Members of Parliament, the Minister of Culture, and the Prime Minister.

Business representatives state that before making decisions regarding the governance and funding model of the national broadcaster, there must be broad discussions with the community of journalists and media professionals, the public, and experts in law, public administration, and management.

“Russia’s war in Ukraine, the unstable international political and economic environment, hybrid attacks against Lithuania, and other threats are creating significant instability and uncertainty today. In such times, it is more important than ever for Lithuania to strengthen citizens’ trust in the state, reduce division, and increase societal resilience. Unfortunately, the actions currently being taken may lead to the opposite effect — weakening citizens’ resilience, undermining trust in institutions, and deepening tensions,” the address states.
