Revision of the Law on Merchant Shipping will help strengthen the competitiveness of the Lithuanian maritime sector

On the 6th of January, 2023  The President of Lithuania signed the amendments to the laws regulating commercial and safe shipping initiated by the Ministry of Transport. For these amendments in 2022 July 22 Investors’ Forum provided comments. We are glad that the new project answers the questions we raised regarding the regulation of the sale and purchase of ships.

Social media giants have been infiltrating the payments market, with big players like Facebook offering users payment services outside of the platform. While this development might signal change in the payments field, Simas Simanauskas, Head of Payments at ConnectPay, says that social media platforms would have to overcome a lot of challenges, like meeting regulatory requirements, until they can establish a strong foothold in the market.

News from the members: Philip Morris International Appoints Jacek Olczak Chief Executive Officer IF publications

Vilnius, Lithuania— May 6 — Philip Morris International Inc. (PMI) (NYSE: PM) announced that Jacek Olczak was appointed CEO following the company’s 2021 Annual Shareholders Meeting on May 5. Mr. Olczak—most recently the company’s Chief Operating Officer—was also elected to the Board of Directors. André Calantzopoulos, who served as PMI’s Chief Executive Officer, was appointed Executive Chairman of the Board prior to the meeting.
